ISRO Opens Scientist Recruitment 2026 For 93 Posts; Applications Underway

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has begun the recruitment process for 93 Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ posts across multiple engineering disciplines. The vacancies are available in Electronics, Mechanical and Computer Science, offering engineering graduates an opportunity to join India’s national space agency. Interested candidates can submit their applications online through the official ISRO recruitment portal until August 17, 2026.

According to the recruitment notification, candidates must possess a BE/BTech degree in the relevant discipline with the prescribed minimum marks. The upper age limit is 28 years as on the closing date of applications, with age relaxation applicable for reserved categories in accordance with Government of India norms.

The selection process will comprise a written examination followed by an interview. The written test will shortlist candidates in a 1:5 ratio based on merit, after which shortlisted applicants will be called for the interview. The final merit list will be prepared by giving 50 per cent weightage each to the written test and interview. During the interview, candidates will be assessed on technical knowledge, subject awareness, communication skills and overall suitability for the role.

Selected candidates will be appointed as Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ under Level 10 of the Seventh Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay matrix. In addition to the basic salary, employees will receive allowances and benefits admissible to Central Government staff.

ISRO has advised applicants to carefully read the eligibility criteria and submit their applications well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues. The recruitment drive is expected to attract engineering graduates aspiring to contribute to India’s expanding space programme.
